Tarantula Enthusiasts Gather in Warwickshire for 33rd Annual British Tarantula Society Exhibition

This Sunday (May 20th, 2018), tarantula enthusiasts will gather in the Warwickshire Exhibition Center for the 33rd annual British Tarantula Society Exhibition (exhibition.thebts.co.uk).

Tarantulas are a family of large “furry” spiders mainly found in Central and South America. The tarantula family includes the largest spider in the world, the Goliath Birdeater.

Due to their somewhat docile nature, but large size and “fuzzy” appearance, these spiders are often kept as pets.

The British Tarantula Society is a group dedicated to the conservation, as well as the care and keeping of tarantulas. According to their website:

The aim of the British Tarantula Society is to promote the responsible husbandry, research, captive breeding, conservation and general knowledge of theraphosids, scorpions, and associated fauna

The exhibition will feature speakers and exhibits related to this mission.
